Asante Kotoko have officially completed the signing of highly-rated midfielder Hubert Gyau from Berekum Chelsea.
The 20-year-old sealed the move after successfully undergoing a medical earlier this week. He signed a four-year contract on Tuesday, with the deal keeping him at the Kumasi-based club until June 2029.
The transfer was confirmed by club officials on Wednesday, with Kotoko describing the acquisition as part of their long-term rebuilding strategy ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Gyau, known for his composure, ball-winning ability, and energy in midfield, impressed in the just-ended campaign with Berekum Chelsea, earning attention from several top-flight clubs. However, it was Kotoko who moved swiftly to secure his services.
The midfielder becomes Kotoko’s first official signing of the transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its squad following a mixed 2024/25 season.
Gyau is expected to join pre-season training in the coming weeks as the Reds gear up for the new campaign.
