According to local media reports, Asante Kotoko has approached Samuel Boadu after the sacking of head coach Seydou Zerbo due to poor results following their defeat to Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday evening.

As the Porcupine Warriors sit in seventh place on the Ghana Premier League table with 34 points and one game in hand, they consider Boadu, who was relieved of his duties as Hearts' head coach in September 2022, as an ideal candidate to steer the team towards a strong finish.

Boadu had spent over two years with Hearts and had led the team to their first Ghana Premier League title in a decade during the 2021-22 season, as well as winning the FA Cup.

Although he missed out on retaining the league championship in the subsequent season, he still managed to win the FA Cup.
