Asante Kotoko, the Ghana Premier League giants, have given an update on the injuries of four of their players: Justice Blay, Rashid Nortey, Dickson Afoakwa, and Yussif Mubarik ahead of their weekend's clash against league leaders Aduana Stars.
The quartet have been absent from the Porcupine Warriors' lineup for some time this season. In an interview with Sompa FM, Kotoko's Communications Director and Brands Manager revealed that Afoakwa, Mubarik, and Nortey have returned to training, while Blay is still undergoing treatment.
He added that Blay won't be available for the upcoming weekend game, but the team is hopeful that Medeiros will make an early return for the match against Great Olympics.
“Dickson Afoakwa, Yussif Mubarik, Rashid Nortey have been training. Justice Blay is still in the medical room, he yet to return to the pitch so we won’t get him for the weekend. We are hoping Medeiros return early hopefully for Great Olympics game” he said.
Kotoko, who are the defending league champions, have had a patchy run in the domestic top-flight and currently sit in fifth place with 39 points after playing 26 matches.
They are set to face Aduana Stars in matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
