Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko have reportedly inquired about the availability of experienced striker John Antwi.

Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has revealed that the Porcupine Warriors have registered interest in securing the signature of the 31-year-old centre-forward in the ongoing transfer window.

“Asante Kotoko have asked for the services of our striker John Antwi but for now, our focus is on the Africa campaign. We will discuss a move with Kotoko after the season. Everything will depend on the player” Karim Zito told West Gold Radio

Antwi, who made a return to the Ghana Premier League prior to the commencement of the 2023/24 season's campaign has had a remarkable stint at Dreams FC, helping them to reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup in their debut appearance in the competition.

The former Al Ahly and Pyramids FC striker has scored four goals and provided an assist in 8 matches for Dreams FC in this season's CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

His stellar performances for the ‘Still Believe’ lads earned him a place in Ghana's 55-man provisional squad announced for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated for January to February 2024.

He earned call-ups to the Black Stars in 2017 and 2020 for World Cup and AFCON qualifiers respectively, winning two senior team caps.

Antwi will hope to make the final 27-man squad list for the continental showpiece to be hosted in Ivory Coast next month.

Ghana have been housed in Group B of the 2023 AFCON, alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
