Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for Asante Kotoko, exudes confidence ahead of their much-anticipated clash against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
The fierce encounter between the two iconic clubs is set to unfold in the week 14 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. Hearts of Oak will serve as the host in Kumasi due to the closure of the Accra Sports Stadium by the National Sports Authority.
Expressing optimism for a triumph, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua encourages Kotoko fans to turn out in large numbers, anticipating a celebratory atmosphere after securing a victory in the epic clash.
“Well, as you can see, for the last three League games and even the FA Cup, you could see the improvement and we are going to nail the record on Sunday. We are going to show the other people that we are in the winning spree, it’s going on and it’s not going to stop," he said in an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi.
“We’ve always been beaten them (Hearts of Oak) and they are coming to our land, so forget the mentality that Kumasi being their home, it’s our land, it’s our soil and they are coming here to face us so we take it as our home match, not even for them”

Asante Kotoko currently holds the 7th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points, while Hearts of Oak occupies the 8th spot with 16 points after 13 games.
