The Ghanaian transfer window has been closed, and the Porcupines have made a late move to sign Nigerian forward Wisdom Fernando.
Details of the deal for the 22-year-old wasn't disclosed. Fernando who joins Kotoko on a free transfer is a highly-rated winger who has already demonstrated his abilities on the field at a young age. His acquisition serves as a testament to Kotoko's focus on building for the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.
Last season, the striker who oversaw his contract at Akwa United featured on loan for Sporting Lagos. He replaces Bernard Somuah Sarpong, who recently joined Spanish club Celta Vigo on loan.
Fernando notched seven goals, recording eight assists in 76 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) across seven seasons, featuring for Akwa United and Sporting Lagos.
He becomes the fifth foreign player to sign for Kotoko this transfer window after Sudanese duo Congolese defender Samba O’Neil, Esmat Abdulhamid, Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Camara and AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub.
