According to reports from the Kessben Sports, Asante Kotoko has expressed interest in extending the contract of Ugandan Forward Steven Mukwala, whose current deal with the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League champions is set to expire at the end of the season.

The Kessben Sports Desk indicates that Mukwala has received a new contract offer from the Kotoko management and is inclined to extend his stay for another year, pending discussions with his agent.

Having joined Asante Kotoko in August 2022 on a two-year deal with an option to renew, Mukwala's future at the club seemed uncertain amid reported interest from clubs outside Ghana. However, with just two games remaining in the 2023-24 Ghana Football Season, negotiations for an extension have been reignited by Asante Kotoko.

Despite attracting attention from several top African clubs, Mukwala, who recently flew to Uganda to join his national teammates for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Morocco, has been presented with a new contract offer by Kotoko.

He has assured the club that he will carefully consider the offer alongside his agent and provide a final decision upon his return.
