Edmund Ackah, the General Manager of FC Samartex, has credited Prosper Narteh Ogum for their Ghana Premier League triumph, even though Ogum was reappointed as the head coach of Asante Kotoko.

In an interview, Ackah revealed that Ogum had been set to work for Samartex and had already started recruitment efforts for the team. However, their plans were unexpectedly disrupted when Asante Kotoko's owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, called Ogum back to the club.

"Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum was to work with us. He did our recruitment and pre-season plan, but a few days into his announcement, we got a call from His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II," Ackah told Nhyira FM. "We were hurt, but we did not have any option but to move on," he added.

Despite their disappointment, Samartex had to adapt quickly and appointed Nurudeen Amadu as their new coach. Under Amadu's guidance, FC Samartex triumphed in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, securing the championship with two games remaining in the season following a 1-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars.

FC Samartex will next face Karela United in their Matchday 33 fixture before concluding their campaign with a home game against Accra Lions.
