Asante Kotoko have made a major coup in the transfer market, agreeing to sign highly-rated winger Stephen Appiah Asare in the ongoing transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who impressed during his spell with Legon Cities, has caught the eye of the Porcupine Warriors' technical team and will now undergo a medical at the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi before completing the move.

The Ghana Premier League giants have been busy rebuilding their squad after releasing 21 first-team players at the end of last season.

Appiah Asare, who joined Legon Cities in the second round of the season, featured in 14 matches during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring two goals and providing one assist for the Royals.

Ghana Premier League transfer expert Mohammed Shaban reported that Kotoko have reached an agreement in principle with Appiah Asare and will now finalize the deal.

The signing is expected to strengthen Asante Kotoko's attack and provide a major boost ahead of the new season.
