Asante Kotoko have made significant progress in their pursuit of Accra Lions goalkeeper Andrews Owusu, with talks between the two parties reaching an advanced stage, as per Sportsworldghana.com.

The Kumasi-based club is seeking to bolster their goalkeeping department, having lost the services of Danlad Ibrahim and Moise Pouaty, and Owusu has emerged as a prime target.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper has impressed with his performances for Accra Lions, keeping 9 clean sheets in 15 games and conceding just 8 goals.

With one month left on his current contract, Kotoko is keen to secure his signature to add depth and quality to their goalkeeping ranks.

Owusu's potential transfer would be part of a broader strategy by Kotoko to enhance their competitiveness and challenge for top honors in the Ghanaian top-flight.

The deal is still subject to agreement between the two parties, but all signs point towards a successful conclusion.
