Asante Kotoko are set to bolster their technical team with the appointment of former goalkeeper Isaac Amoako as the club’s new goalkeeper coach.

Amoako's arrival comes in the wake of the dismissal of Najahu Issah, who previously held the position.

The 40-year-old, a former Kotoko captain, brings a wealth of experience and a strong reputation for nurturing goalkeeping talent, which is expected to significantly strengthen Kotoko’s goalkeeping department ahead of the new season, having managed Dreams FC, Nsoatreman and Medeama.

Amoako enjoyed a distinguished playing career, featuring prominently for AshantiGold SC, Asante Kotoko, and Dreams FC. He is widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers to have graced the Ghana Premier League.

Joining Kotoko in 2007 from BA United after an impressive debut top-flight campaign, Amoako went on to spend a decade with the Porcupine Warriors. During his time at the club, he won four Ghana Premier League titles and six FA Cups, establishing himself as a key figure and leader within the squad.

His return in a coaching capacity marks a homecoming for one of Kotoko’s celebrated former players, as the club looks to rebuild and challenge for honours once again.
