The Porcupine Warriors have secured the signature of the former Nania FC towering defender until the end of the summer of 2026.
Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Daniel Adrian Adjetey in the ongoing transfer window.
The 24-year-old versatile defender signed a one-and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical earlier today in Kumasi.
The club's official statement reads: “Asante Kotoko is delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old right-back Daniel Adrian Adjetey on a one and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical.”
Adjetey brings a wealth of international experience to the Porcupine Warriors, having previously played for Naestved in Denmark’s Division 2 and BFC Daugavpils in the Latvia top flight.
He began his career in Ghana with Nania FC, where he honed his skills and established himself as a dependable right-back known for his defensive solidity and attacking support.
Daniel Adrian Adjetey arrives as a direct replacement for injured Emmanuel Kotei
According to Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, the club opted to complete the signing of versatile defender following the unavailability of injured Emmanuel Kotei.
Kotei has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2024/25 season's campaign due to an ACL injury picked up in December 2024.
“With Kotei’s unfortunate ACL injury, it was important that we reacted in the market,” Ogum told the club's official website in an interview.
“In Daniel, we are not just bringing in a player but someone who brings quality, experience, and competitiveness. He will not only strengthen our squad but also challenge Lord Amoah for that position, which is key for us moving forward.
“We’re confident he’ll make an impact both defensively and offensively.” he concluded.
Adjetey, who underwent a month trial at Asante Kotoko before earning a contract, is expected to make his debut for the club in the matchday 18 fixture against Karela United at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Asante Kotoko have already signed Kwame Opoku, Isaac Mintah, Benjamin Twum and Sampson Eduku to bolster their squad for the 2024/25 season.
