The Porcupine Warriors have secured the signature of the workaholic midfielder in a deal until the summer of 2029.

Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Nations FC midfielder Prince Badu in the ongoing transfer window.

The club's official statement reads: “Asante Kotoko is pleased to announce the signing of defensive midfielder Prince Badu on a three-year contract following the successful completion of his medical. The midfielder joins us from Nations FC, where he has been a consistent presence over the last two-and-a-half seasons, making close to half a century of league appearances.”

“Known for his discipline, positional awareness, and ability to break up play, Badu adds much-needed depth and balance to Kotoko’s midfield.”

Badu, who has spent over the last two-and-a-half seasons at Nations FC, made close to half a century of league appearances for the Abrankese based outfit before the transfer.

Why Asante Kotoko signed Prince Badu

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has opened up on the club's decision to beef up their midfield options with the acquisition of 25-year-old defensive midfielder.

“We felt it was very important to strengthen the defensive midfield area. At the moment, we have only one natural defensive midfielder, and we also have to carefully manage the minutes of Lawson Manu, who is still a young player.” Zito told the club's official website.

“Prince gives us the balance we need. He understands the league, he’s tactically disciplined, and he will help us maintain intensity and stability in midfield over the remainder of the season and the next few years”

Badu will wear the jersey no.44 as he begins his journey with the Porcupine Warriors. He is expected to commence training with his new teammates next week.
