Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are set to announce the departure of starman Richmond Lamptey by the close of the week after mutual agreement between both parties, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.
The 27-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2021 from Inter Allies and has undoubtedly been the club's best out and out player since his arrival in Kumasi.
In his debut season at Kotoko, the mercurial playmaker played an integral role to help the Reds win the Ghana Premier League for the first time in almost a decade.
Despite battling injuries and setbacks in the just-finished season, Lamptey made 17 league appearances and provided five assists and could have definitely been better if he had stayed fully fit in the entire campaign.
However, the latest is that, Richmond Lamptey's exit from Kotoko is very imminent and is most likely he will be the twentieth player to depart the club in just weeks after wrapping up the 2023/24 season.
The former WAFA middleman during his time with the 'Kum Apem' lads made the Black Stars final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held early this year in Cote D'Ivoire.
