Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko are looking to put their disappointing season behind them as they prepare for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors endured a difficult campaign, finishing sixth in the Ghana Premier League and failing to win any major trophies.

With a focus on rebuilding, Kotoko have released 18 players, with two more expected to depart in the coming days.

According to reports, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has informed the Interim Management Committee (IMC) that he plans to work with a squad of just 26 players for the upcoming season.

To bolster their ranks, Kotoko are expected to sign 16 new players in the transfer window, which will complement the remaining 10 players still at the club. Notable departures include captain Danlad Ibrahim and George Mfegue, who have both left the club.

The following players have been officially released by Kotoko:

* Augustine Agyapong

* Nicholas Mensah

* John Tedeku

* Sherif Mohammed (Defender)

* George Mfegue
