Striker Kalo Ouattara is on the verge of making a dramatic return to Berekum Chelsea, just a year after joining Asante Kotoko in a three-year deal.
Ouattara's disappointing spell at the Porcupine Warriors has come to an end, with the club opting to cut short his contract after he failed to secure a regular starting spot.
According to reports, Berekum Chelsea, who finished third in the Ghana Premier League this season, are keen on resigning the forward for the upcoming season. Ouattara was a key player for Chelsea before his departure to Kotoko last year, and it appears the striker is set to return to his former haunt.
Asante Kotoko has had a disappointing campaign, finishing sixth in the league and failing to win any major trophies. The club has now begun a major squad overhaul, releasing 18 players from their roster, with Ouattara being one of them.
The move will be seen as a blow to Kotoko, who had high hopes for Ouattara when they signed him last year. However, it seems that the striker's lack of form and fitness issues led to his demise at the club.
