Asante Kotoko SC has announced that the club will not be signing any new players ahead of the 2026/27 season, opting instead to promote talent from its youth ranks.
Speaking on Oyerepa FM, Communications Director Sarfo Duku explained that the decision is part of a long-term strategy to integrate homegrown players into the senior squad.
“Asante Kotoko will not sign any player next season. Most of the youth team players are maturing and they will be infused into the team,” Duku stated.
The club’s decision underscores a growing emphasis on youth development and sustainability, aiming to provide young prospects with opportunities to gain experience at the top level while maintaining squad cohesion.
By relying on academy graduates, Kotoko hope to build a strong core of homegrown talent capable of competing in both the Ghana Premier League and domestic cup competitions.
The Porcupine Warriors’ fans can expect a new-look team next season, with several promising youth players expected to make the leap into the senior side. This strategy also signals the club’s confidence in the pipeline of talent being developed at their academy.
