Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya has underscored the team's commitment to building a collective unit rather than relying on individual players for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors had a challenging previous season, finishing sixth in the league as Samartex claimed the title.
In response to a disappointing campaign, Kotoko underwent a significant overhaul, parting ways with over 20 players and bringing in 12 new signings.
Yahaya, one of the few players retained, emphasized the importance of a balanced and cohesive team:
“We are building an all-round team for next season. We are not going to rely on individual players. We don’t have to depend on one particular striker. We are not building the team on one particular person. We should all be able to score when the going gets tough,” he said.
Asante Kotoko are actively preparing for the 2024/25 campaign, having secured two wins in their preseason friendly matches.
The team will face Medeama on Friday in a ceremonial friendly to inaugurate the newly built TNA Park in Tarkwa.
Kotoko will kick off their Premier League season against Karela United.
