Attacker Seidu Abubakari departs FC Samartex following contract expiry

Enterprising forward Seidu Abubakari has officially left FC Samartex after the expiration of his contract, the club has confirmed.

The 24-year-old attacker made several key contributions during his time at the Ghana Premier League side, helping Samartex secure a historic top-flight campaign in recent seasons.



"We thank the following players for their service following the expiration of their contracts," a statement from Samartex read.



No immediate details were provided regarding his next destination, but the player who was part of Samartex Ghana Premier League title winning squad during the 2023/24 season is now a free agent and eligible to negotiate with interested clubs.



Abubakari, who joined the Timber Giants in 2022 from Ebusua Dwarf's departure, comes as Samartex begins restructuring ahead of the 2025/26 season.
