The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi is fully prepared to host football events, according to Patieno Adams, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the National Sports Authority (NSA) in Kumasi.

In an interview with Akoma FM, Adams confirmed that all renovation work on the stadium has been completed, and the facility is now ready for use. However, the stadium remains closed to the public as they await official clearance from authorities in Accra.

"All work at the Baba Yara Stadium is completed and ready to host any football events. However, we are awaiting clearance from our masters in Accra before the facility can be opened," Adams explained.

This final clearance is the last step before the iconic venue can once again serve as a hub for football matches and other sporting activities in the region.

The reopening of the Baba Yara Stadium is a significant milestone for sports fans in Kumasi, as it means the city will soon be able to host major events. Asante Kotoko, currently playing their home games at Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, is expected to return to their favored home ground once the stadium is fully reopened.
