Basake Holy Stars coach Augustine Evans Adotey has resigned following a disappointing run in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

The 'Big Holy' has struggled under the veteran tactician, recording just one win, three draws, and six defeats in their opening ten games.

With six points to their name, Basake Holy Stars currently find themselves in the relegation zone (17th with 6 points), which has left the club hierarchy and fans frustrated.

Adotey, 60, joined the Anyinase side on a three-year deal, replacing Abdulai Gazale, who departed in June to take up an assistant role at Hearts of Oak.

Despite his extensive experience, including spells at Medeama as technical director and as assistant coach of the Black Queens, Adotey was unable to turn around the team’s fortunes.

Assistant coach Johnson Smith is expected to take temporary charge while the club searches for a permanent replacement.
