Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare has expressed elation towards their win over Medeama SC and added they are every grateful to the Lord for this crucial victory.

The 'Phobians' were recently on some string of poor results and redeemed themselves over the weekend with a precious 1-0 win over the Mauves and Yellows to finally return on winning path.

Raphael Amponsah's strong first-half hit from miles out was enough to give the Rainbow Club the win and halted their recent appalling four-game winless run.

Speaking after the game, the Black Stars goalie confessed they really needed this win to win back the hopes of their supporters and are looking forward to building on same momentum heading into their subsequent games.

"We had determination coming into this game after our defeat on Thursday," Asare said.

"We knew we had to grab all three points in this game. We thank God for this victory, and also our fans and everyone who came to support us."

"Football is like that, you can lose or you can draw, anything can happen in football. Definitely, while you play and you don't win, you are not happy. The players always have the mindset of winning, so our focus is always there."

Hearts of Oak are still out of the top four despite the win and as they currently sit in fifth place on the league log with 40 points and will play Vision FC next.
