Prosper Narteh Ogum, Asante Kotoko head coach, has stated they played very well in their 1-1 draw against Heart of Lions over the weekend but only lost concentration at some point reason they failed to run out with the win.
The Porcupine Warriors made an explosive start and eventually got the opening goal in the dying embers of the first half through skipper Justice Blay who scored with a beautiful strike.
Just two minutes into the second half, 17-year-old Ali Fawzi headed at a close range from a free kick to level things up as it finished 1-1 in regulation time.
Speaking in a post-game interview, the Educationist was very satisfied with how his players performed even though they lost focus in the course but described their performance as a good one generally.
"We played well just a slight loss of focus when we started the second half that led to the equalizer. I think apart from that we were very focus we had a good structure we created some good counter attack situations which were very good for us so to me I am okay with the way they played."
Asante Kotoko even after the draw have now extended their lead to two points following second-place Goldstars' defeat at Dreams FC.
They will host Bechem United in another tricky fixture in the next round of matches.
