Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has backed Benjamin Asare to recover from his recent dip in form, insisting the Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper will learn from his mistakes and come back stronger.

Asare, who has been a key figure for the Phobians this season, has faced criticism following a string of inconsistent performances in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, particularly after a nervy display in their recent game against Basake Holy Stars.

Speaking to 3Sports, Asante Twum urged fans to stay calm and continue supporting the experienced shot-stopper.

“I think Benjamin will learn from his mistakes. I don’t think it is time for Hearts of Oak fans to panic,” Twum said.

He stressed that mistakes are part of the game and even the best goalkeepers in the world have their off days.

“These things happen. All the top goalkeepers in the world make mistakes,” he added.

Despite recent criticism, Asante Twum remains confident in Asare’s resilience and quality.

“I believe he has the capacity, competence and the ability to get back to where we all know him to be,” he said.

Asare has kept five clean sheets so far this season and is expected to retain his place in goal when Hearts of Oak host Asante Kotoko in the Matchday 9 Super Clash this weekend.
