Berekum Chelsea forward, Stephen Amankona has been adjudged 2023/24 Ghana Premier League top scorer after scoring 19 goals in the just finished campaign.
The 24-year-old enjoyed yet another amazing season with the Bibires and proved to be their key player and of course the fans favourite at the Golden City Park.
Heading into the final round of games, Amankona had netted 17 goals, followed by Asante Kotoko's Steven Dese Mukwala and Agyenim Boateng Mensah of Dreams FC- who scored five against RTU in the midweek to tie up on 14.
However, Amankona proved why he deserved once again on the final day having climaxed everything with a brace in their 2-2 stalemate against Heart of Lions to extend his tally to 19 and clinch the golden boot without any stiffer competition.
His goals definitely was really malleable to the Bibires who finished third on the league table with 51 points at the end of the season, ten behind champions FC Samartex
Stephen Amankona in the league scored 19 goals in 29 matches, to takeover the prestigious accolade from Abednego Tetteh who won the award with 18 goals last season.
