Bibiani Gold Stars defender Vincent Atinga has voiced his confidence ahead of Sunday’s Champion of Champions Cup clash, declaring that the Ghana Premier League winners will lift the trophy.
Gold Stars, who secured their first-ever league title last season, face FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko in the nerve-cracking curtain-raiser for the 2025/2026 campaign.
“Gold Stars will win the 2025 Champion of Champions Cup,” Atinga confidently vow.
“We have been preparing well, and I believe we are ready to deliver when it matters. Kotoko is Kotoko and we're also Gold Stars.”
The former Hearts of Oak and Medeama centre-back stressed that the team’s focus has been on fine-tuning their performance levels to ensure they carry their league form into the new season.
The Champion of Champions fixture will take place on August 31 at the Accra Sports Stadium, serving as the traditional season-opener for Ghana’s top-flight football calendar.
