Bibiani Gold Stars midfielder, Appiah McCarthy, holds a strong belief that his team can secure their first home victory against Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko, this upcoming weekend.
The Miners are set to host Kotoko at Dun's Park this Saturday in matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League. Michael Osei's side has been unsuccessful in defeating the Porcupine Warriors since their promotion to the top flight two seasons ago.
Gold Stars experienced consecutive losses to Kotoko in their debut season and managed to secure draws in both of their two league encounters last season.
In their home matches, they suffered a 0-1 loss to Kotoko during their debut season and played to a 1-1 draw last season.
McCarthy is optimistic that the Miners can break this streak on Saturday.
The talented midfielder, who joined the club earlier this year, expressed to Kessben Sports: "We are preparing to secure all three points. Fans should expect the three points to stay in Bibiani. This is the moment to defeat Kotoko.
"In their first season, Kotoko won at Dun's Park and got a draw here in the second season. So, this is the opportunity to claim all three points in Bibiani."
