The Phobians have been excluded from the first preliminary stage of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak will not be participating in the first qualification round of 2022/23 Confederation Cup according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Maiden winners of the competition, Hearts of Oak is among the thirteen (13) clubs that have been exempted from part taking in the first preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup.
Other clubs excluded from the first preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup draw are USM Algers, JS Saoura, GD Sagrada, CS Noirs, DCM Pembe, Pyramids FC RS Berkane, Marumo Gallants, AzamFC, CS Sfaxien, Club Africain, Zesco United
Hearts of Oak is Ghana's sole representative in the competition after clinching the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup following a 2-1 win over Bechem United in the final.
The Phobians are yet to make an appearance in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup in the last decade, having been knocked out by Algerian side JS Saoura on a 4-2 aggregate.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko who are also representing Ghana in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League will know their opponent for the first preliminary round on Tuesday.
The draw for the 2022-2023 TotalEnergies CAF Interclub competitions Preliminary Rounds will be conducted on Tuesday, 09 August 2022 in Cairo, Egypt at 16h00 local time.
