In a dramatic twist to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, Nii Odartey Lamptey has stepped down as head coach of Eleven Wonders, bringing an early end to his turbulent spell in charge.

Lamptey, appointed in August 2025, leaves the newly promoted side winless after seven league matches. The Wonders have picked up just two points, drawing twice and losing five, a run that has left them 17th in the 18-club league table.

The former Ghana international was tasked with stabilising the team following their promotion from Division One, but results have failed to follow despite flashes of improvement.

Since moving their base to Accra after being acquired by the owner of Legon Cities FC, the club has struggled to adapt to top-flight demands, with Lamptey’s departure now adding to their early-season woes.

Neither the coach nor the club has yet issued an official statement, but Kickgh.com understands that the decision was mutual and centred on the need for a “new direction.”

With the search for a replacement now underway, Eleven Wonders will be desperate to turn their fortunes around before the campaign slips further out of reach.
