Scottish Championship outfit Dunfermline Athletic have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Nurudeen Abdulai from Medeama SC on the transfer deadline day, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.
Abdulai has penned a three-year contract with the Scottish club after passing a mandatory medical examination to complete his switch from Medeama SC for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old centre-back arrived at KDM Group East End Park outfit with impressive credentials, having made 75 appearances in the Ghanaian Premier League and seven in the prestigious CAF Champions League during his time with Medeama SC.
The club's official statement reads “Dunfermline Athletic is delighted to announce the signing of central defender Nurudeen Abdulai from Ghanaian Premier League side Medeama SC, on a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee, Subject to visa approval and international clearance.”
He established himself as a key figure in their defensive line of the Yellow and Mauves lads for the past seasons. His performances didn't go unnoticed at international level, with the towering defender earning call-ups to several Ghana national squad selections and making the bench on three occasions.
Abdulai possesses a keen eye for goal and has developed a reputation for contributing crucial strikes at important moments.
His attacking threat from set-pieces was instrumental in helping Medeama SC achieve a historic milestone two seasons ago, as they secured qualification for the CAF Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Abdulai won the Ghana Premier League title during the 2023-24 season with Medeama SC.
