Former Asante Kotoko star Charles Taylor has criticised the club’s current team, accusing players of misplaced priorities and lack of professionalism as their Premier League title bid falters.
Speaking on Angel FM, Taylor said: “Kotoko players like taking pictures with ladies after games too much. That’s why they easily lose concentration. They don’t care about the environment. You see them taking photos with women even after defeat. Hands around them, hugging them and smiling. Any serious professional will avoid women after matches to prevent distractions and drama. But they simply don’t care. You will see them with ladies with big, big buttocks.”
Taylor’s remarks come as Kotoko sit fourth on the table with 31 points, six behind leaders Medeama SC after 18 games. The club has failed to win their last two matches following a brief three-game resurgence.
Off the field, tension is rising at the boardroom level, with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) reportedly holding crisis talks over head coach Karim Zito’s future.
Taylor’s comments show that fans are upset with Kotoko’s inconsistent performances, and many think the team lacks the focus and determination to win the league. However, the next few matches will decide their season.
