Ghanaian teenager Fatawu Ganiwu has secured a season-long loan move to Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities after a successful trial with Chelsea, according to Flashscore.
The 16-year-old midfielder recently returned to Ghana following a month-long trial in London, where he showcased his talent within Chelsea's academy system.
Ganiwu participated in the UEFA U-16 invitational tournament in 2023 with Laryea Kingston’s Ghana U-17 team.
During his time at Chelsea, Ganiwu impressed the coaching staff with standout performances in a friendly against Sheffield United and a match with Chelsea U-18 against Manchester United U-18. His efforts also earned him a chance to watch Chelsea’s preseason friendly against Inter Milan.
Having previously trialed with French side RC Lens and German club RB Leipzig, Ganiwu’s promising displays have now led him to Legon Cities, where he will continue his development throughout the 2024/25 season.
