Bechem United head coach Mallam Yahaya has insisted his side will remain determined and resilient despite a punishing 6–0 loss to Asante Kotoko in Matchday 16 of the Ghana Premier League at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors dominated the Hunters, with Morifing Donzo scoring twice, while Samba O’Neil, Kwame Opoku, Hubert Gyau, and Johnson Owusu Oppong also found the net to complete a comprehensive victory that lifted Kotoko to the top of the league.
Speaking after the game, Yahaya acknowledged the magnitude of the defeat but emphasised his team’s commitment to fighting in upcoming matches.
“As for disappointment, it is normal. We are down, but we are not going to give up. It’s a huge loss for me and the entire team. Despite the defeat, we are going to work hard and ensure we win games to place the team in a good position,” he told the media.
Bechem United are enduring a challenging season. After 16 matches, the Hunters sit in the relegation zone (17th position) with just 16 points.
