Asante Kotoko have officially parted ways with midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena following the expiration of his contract.
The 23-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2023 and spent two seasons with the club, playing a supportive role in midfield throughout his stay. While not always a first-choice starter, Dwamena contributed effectively when called upon, particularly in cup competitions.
His most notable achievement came in the 2023/24 season, when he helped Kotoko clinch the MTN FA Cup title, adding a major trophy to his résumé during his time in Kumasi.
Known for his composure on the ball and solid passing ability, Dwamena offered valuable depth to the squad and earned praise for his professionalism.
According to club sources, the decision not to renew the midfielder’s contract was mutual, as both parties opted to move in different directions ahead of the 2025/26 season, where Kotoko are undergoing a squad overhaul in preparation for domestic and continental challenges.
Now a free agent, Dwamena is expected to attract interest from several clubs both in Ghana and potentially abroad, as he looks to take the next step in his career.
