Asante Kotoko are sweating over their poor strings of results, however, club legend Opoku Nti has lashed out at current players as the club keep struggling to win matches.
Asante Kotoko have endured a difficult second round in the ongoing season and are almost assured to end the campaign empty-handed.
Ahead of Saturday's crucial Premier League clash with table-toppers Samartex at the Baba Yara stadium, Opoku Nti believes that certain players are not supposed to be in the fold of the Porcupine Warriors and their chances of winning the Ghana Premier League title look very slim.
"Kotoko should always go in for the best of players because of expectation and the standard of the club," Nti said in an interview with Connect FM.
"Looking at the performance of some of the players, it shows clearly that they are not materials of Kotoko.
"Whether you are the club’s material or not, if you don’t have great vision, you’re not fighting for yourself," he added.
The Ashanti giants have come under fire for signing players who struggle to match the quality of Asante Kotoko with fans refusing to back the current crop of players.
