The two most glamourous clubs Hearts of Oak and Kotoko find themselves sitting just above the relegation zone in 9th and 11th position, respectively, with thirty-five and thirty-three points from 26 games.
However, the pressure appears to be mounting on Asante Kotoko and Hearts more after the General Manager of Samartex FC, Edmund Ackah has taken a dig at both club's.
“It’s not a matter of Samartex FC taking advantage of the struggles of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. Nowadays Samartex FC have become more attractive than the two clubs.
“At first Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko could go around and sign the best players of the other clubs at the end of every season. These days things are not the same. We are doing well because of the way we do our things,” Edmund Ackah said in an interview with Accra 100.5FM.
It's been a great couple of months for Samartex as the Timber Giants form has improved, and according to Ackah when you're the coach of the country's most popular club, there is no place to hide.
Samartex FC are currently top of the league summit. They will travel to Kumasi to face Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday, April 20.
