Highly-rated Ghanaian referee, Daniel Nii Laryea has been appointment by the Referee's Committee of GFA to shepherd the 'Champion of Champions' game between Medeama SC and Dreams FC.
This in other words, is the Ghana version of the Super Cup since it is contested by the Premier League and FA Cup conquerors.
The Mauves and Yellows defied all odds last season, having fended off stiffer oppositions to win the league for the first time in their history.
On the other hand, Dreams FC also exhibited a stellar and consistent performance and bested all 64 clubs to emerge winners of the FA Cup, having climaxed it with a 2-1 win over King Faisal FC in the final.
Daniel Nii Laryea, who has so much experience and exposure, having handed tough matches both in the country and on the continent, has been given the mandate to handle affairs on Sunday and he is to ensure good officiating in order to get a deserving winner.
This game will also serve as a good preseason exercise for both teams to test their strengths ahead of their Africa campaign and the coming 2023/24 Ghana Football season.
Both Medeama SC and Dreams FC have advanced into the next and final qualifying round of the CAF inter-club competitions and will return to action few weeks from now.
The 'Champion of Champions' is scheduled for Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
