Danish top-flight outfit FC Midtjylland have identified Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau as a prime transfer target, impressed by the youngster’s commanding performances in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

Gyau has quickly risen to prominence since arriving in Kumasi from Berekum Chelsea at the start of the campaign. The 20-year-old has seamlessly settled into life at the Baba Yara Stadium, becoming a driving force in Kotoko’s midfield with his relentless work rate, sharp positional sense, and growing attacking output.

The highly-rated midfielder has already registered four goals in 17 league matches, while earning several NASCO Man of the Match honours—clear indicators of his increasing authority and consistency at the top level.

Gyau’s rapid development has not gone unnoticed beyond Ghana, with Midtjylland closely monitoring his progress as they prepare to bolster their midfield options ahead of the next transfer window. The Danish club are believed to view him as a strategic, long-term addition suited to their high-intensity playing philosophy.

It is understood that Midtjylland officials were in attendance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last weekend to run the rule over Gyau during Kotoko’s win over Basake Holy Stars, a match in which he was deservedly voted Most Valuable Player.

With scouting assessments completed, sources indicate that FC Midtjylland are poised to submit a formal offer in the coming days as they move decisively to land one of the Ghana Premier League’s most exciting young midfield prospects.
