Asante Kotoko’s Albert Amoah has received league-wide recognition after delivering an eye-catching performance that helped power the Porcupine Warriors past Basake Holy Stars on Matchday 20 of the Ghana Premier League.

Fresh from completing a loan return to Kumasi from Al Ahly Benghazi in Libya, the 24-year-old forward needed little time to settle back into familiar surroundings. Thrown into the action during Sunday’s encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Amoah immediately made his mark in spectacular fashion.

The striker brought the home fans to their feet with a stunning overhead finish that brought Kotoko back into the contest, shifting the momentum firmly in their favour. He later turned provider, supplying the final pass for Kwame Opoku as Kotoko pulled away to claim a dominant 3-0 win.

Amoah’s influential display earned him a spot in the Ghana Premier League Team of the Week, compiled by former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda for the Ghana Football Association.

Kotoko’s strong showing against Holy Stars was further reflected in the selection, with Hubert Gyau and Samba O’Neil also rewarded for their impressive outings.

Across the rest of the league, players including Kamaradini Mamudu, Abdul Karim, Mohammed Abass, Richard Dwamena, and Benjamin Tsivanyo were similarly honoured after standout performances, as Matchday 20 delivered another thrilling chapter in the domestic season.
