Former Black Stars goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim has revealed that performing at Asante Kotoko can significantly increase a local player’s chances of earning a call-up to Ghana’s senior national team.

Speaking about his journey from local leagues to the international stage, Ibrahim emphasized that hard work, consistency, and focus were just as important as talent.

“Playing for Kotoko increases your chances of getting a call-up, especially when you perform wholeheartedly. Nothing special, just being myself and staying focused on the work,” he said in an interview with Akoma FM.

Ibrahim, who was one of only two local-based players called up to the 2022 World Cup, also offered advice for aspiring national team players.

“Work hard every week, perform consistently, and stay disciplined. If you do that, your chance of earning a national team call-up will surely come,” he added.
