Accra Hearts of Oak have officially appointed Najahu Issah as their new goalkeepers trainer, finalizing a key addition to their technical bench as preparations intensify for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Issa, a seasoned trainer with a reputation for tactical discipline and excellence in goalkeeper development, joins the Phobians as part of a major overhaul of the club’s backroom staff. The former Asante Kotoko goalkeepers coach is expected to bring valuable experience and structure to Hearts’ goalkeeping department, following recent changes in the technical setup.

Sources close to the club had earlier indicated that talks were at an advanced stage, and a verbal agreement had been reached. That agreement has now been formalized, with the club confirming the appointment on Friday.

Najahu Issah previously served with distinction at Kotoko, where his specialized training methods were credited with improving the performances of several top goalkeepers. His track record of nurturing talent and instilling discipline made him a standout candidate for the Hearts role.

This appointment forms part of Hearts of Oak’s broader strategic rebuild, which includes the recent hiring of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as head coach. The club is determined to reclaim its place at the summit of Ghanaian football and make a strong impact on the continental stage.

Issah is expected to link up with the squad in the coming days and work closely with Dramani and the rest of the technical team as Hearts begin pre-season preparations.
