Following Asante Kotoko's withdrawal from the 2023 GHALCA Top Four Tournament has been confirmed and the two teams to likely replace them are FA Cup champions Dreams FC and Bibiani Goldstars.

The mini-competion will revert back to the traditional top four, having faced series of dynamics; from GHALCA G6 to G8 for the past years.

Ideally, the teams to partake in this year's edition include champions Medeama SC, Aduana Stars, Bechem United and Asante Kotoko since they were the top four finishers in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

However, the recent happenings with the Porcupine Warriors; the dissolution of the board and others has forced them to pull out and tackle those pressing needs in order to get themselves adequately ready for next season.

This means they have to be replaced and current FA Cup winners Dreams FC are in pole position for the vacant slot and have already been reached out to, left for them to confirm their participation.

Also, Bibiani Goldstars who finished right behind Kotoko on the league log with 49 points will step in should the 'Still Believe' side reject the participation.

GHALCA Chairman affirmed this in an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi;

"We have immediately reached out to Dreams to replace Kotoko, but they are yet to confirm their participation because of some competition they have lined up. Again we are in talks with Bibiani Gold Stars as a possible replacement in case Dreams fails to honor the invitation."

The competition is slated for August 6, and will extend to August 12, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
