Asante Kotoko's owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has taken decisive action by appointing a capable and experienced four-man Interim Management Committee (IMC) to take charge of the club's operations.
Opemsuo Radio reports that the IMC includes Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, a chartered accountant, and the Kontomponiaferehene, bringing his financial expertise to the committee.
Additionally, former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah, and the newly appointed Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, have been entrusted with important roles within the committee. Completing the team is Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, who assumes the crucial administrative manager position.
The IMC will play a key role in overseeing Asante Kotoko until the club's administration is restructured, following the dissolution of the previous board and management members by Otumfuo at the end of their three-year mandate earlier this month.
The committee's primary responsibilities include ensuring that Asante Kotoko fulfills all statutory obligations for the Ghana Premier League and prepares a competitive and robust team for the upcoming season.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum's return as head coach marks a significant development, as he previously led the club to victory in the 2021/22 league season. After a temporary departure due to disagreements with the former management team under Nana Yaw Amponsah, he is back to spearhead the club's football operations.
With the appointment of this capable IMC, Asante Kotoko is looking to move forward and reestablish its position as a formidable force in Ghanaian football.
