Karela United head coach, Abukari Damba has expressed delight after completing the double over giants Asante Kotoko this year having already beaten them in the FA Cup.

The 'Pride and Passion' outfit exhibited a five-star display with strong mentality to record a slim 1-0 win over the Reds last Saturday at the Naa Sheriga Sports Center in an epic GPL week 20 clash.

The game was really an intensed one and very difficult for both sides but it was Ibrahim Giyas's 60th minute towering header that made the difference and handed the hosts all three points after full time.

In a post-match interview on StarTimes, the former Black Stars goalie expressed elation and also lauded the performance of his players and strongly feels is the only way to begin their quest to exiting the danger zone as early as possible.

"I cannot be having any other feeling right now than to be happy because I did indicate to you that the last kicks of a dying horse is very powerful. Our position on the league table is not the best, we have to get ourselves out of that earlier cos is not a comfortable place to be and my players of course did demonstrate that.

"We worked very hard towards but I must also say Kotoko is a team that has to be looked out again. Is a very very good side. They distinguished themselves creditably just that we did the needful."

Karela United have now climbed two places up on the league table as they currently sit 13th with 23 points after 20 matches.
