Egyptian topflight side Ismaily SC have launched a bid to sign Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Amankona ahead of the 2025/26 football season, per reports in the local media
Amankona, who returned to Berekum Chelsea in early 2023 after a stint with Kotoko, has been nothing short of electric this season—bagging match-winners, terrorizing defenders, and proving his doubters wrong.
The versatile attacker finished the just-ended Ghana Premier League season as the top scorer with 15 goals - and is the second consecutive time he is winning this accolade having won again with 19 goals in the 2023/24 season
The 25-year-old has widely been tipped to make a high-profile switch following his heroics. Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and even clubs from South Africa and North Africa are said to be sniffing around.
However, Kumasi-based Ezra TV/FM have reported that Egyptian side Ismaily SC have made an offer of $65,000 for the service of Stephen Amankona and are hoping it is accepted as they believe he will a great addition to their attacking line next season
The former Asante Kotoko forward was in the capital, Accra, recently to partake in the fourth edition of the All-Festival game held at the Legon Stadium
