Eleven Wonders midfielder Eden Kofi Asamoah says his team’s heavy 3–0 defeat to Young Apostles on Sunday was influenced by their disallowed goal.
Asamoah played the full 90 minutes in the Week 21 Ghana Premier League clash, which saw the Sure Wonders struggle from the start. The team thought they had taken an early lead, but the referee ruled the goal out, which was a moment Asamoah believes changed the course of the game.
“If he had allowed our early goal, things would have been different. Once the goal was disallowed, it didn’t help us,” he said.
He added: “For now, there is nothing we can do. All we will do is continue working hard. For the match, I think the referee didn’t help.”
The defeat leaves Eleven Wonders at the foot of the Ghana Premier League table with just nine points from 21 games, making it hard to avoid relegation.
