Asante Kotoko have officially announced the signing of highly-rated left-back Francis Acquah from Bechem United on a three-year deal, with all formalities and documentation now completed between the two clubs.

The 24-year-old defender joins the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season as part of the club’s rebuilding project under coach Abdul Karim Zito.

Acquah was one of the most consistent full-backs in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign. He featured in 28 league matches for Bechem United, contributing 4 assists and playing a vital role in 10 clean sheets. His blend of speed, tactical awareness, and attacking support from the flanks made him a standout performer throughout the season.

Several top-tier Ghanaian clubs were reportedly monitoring Acquah’s progress, but Kotoko acted swiftly to secure his signature as they aim to reinforce key positions following a disappointing league campaign.

Acquah becomes one of the club’s early summer acquisitions, joining the likes of Hubert Gyau, Zackaria Fuseini, and Haruna Aziz Dari as Kotoko continue to strengthen their squad for a renewed title push and improved performances in the 2025/26 season.
