According to information obtained by Kickgh.com, Medeama, the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, have secured the signing of Benjamin Bature from King Faisal on a three-year contract.

Following their triumph over Asante Kotoko in the 2022-2023 season, Medeama's next objective is to make a significant impact in the CAF Champions League.

Ghanaian clubs have faced difficulties in the competition recently, with Asante Kotoko succumbing to RC Kadiogo last season and Hearts of Oak falling to former champions Wydad Casablanca in their previous campaign. To address concerns about Medeama's success in the African Champions League this season, the club has been advised to acquire high-quality players before their first match.

After the conclusion of the season, Medeama wasted no time in starting their transfer activities and secured the services of Benjamin Bature, one of the finest attackers in the Ghana Premier League. Despite Bature's impressive performances in the attack, King Faisal was relegated from the topflight.

The 26-year-old forward made 24 appearances for King Faisal in the recently ended season, scoring 6 goals and providing one assist.

Bature joined King Faisal last season after departing from Tunisian side JS Kairouan in the summer of 2020. He previously played for Medeama in 2014 and signed a contract extension in 2017 before moving to North Africa in 2019, where he spent one season with JS Kairouan. He also had stints with Nigerian side Nasarawa United.

Bature previously scored 8 goals in 21 league games for Medeama, according to Flashscore.com.

Medeama aims to replicate their performance in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup, where they reached the group stage but failed to advance, with TP Mazembe and Algerian side OM Bejaia progressing instead. In the group stage, Medeama finished third in Group A, while Young Africans finished last in the group.
