Reigning Ghanaian champions FC Samartex have completed the capture of goalkeeper Sabi Acquah Ferdinand ahead of the 2025/26 football season, pending official club announcement
The 28-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the Ghanaian topflight currently and last featured for Nsoatreman FC - where he joined last year on a two-year deal
The lanky shot-stopper got off to a great start in Nsoatre this season but still struggled to command the starting spot in between the sticks having struggled to drop club captain and first-choice Daniel Afadzwu
The former WAFA and Kotoku Royals goalie made 8 appearances this season for the 'Efiri Tete Amanaso' lads with 7 league appearances and the other in the CAF Confederations Cup qualifying round having conceded ten goals with two clean sheets
After the missing almost the second phase of the season, Sabi Acquah Ferdinand is finally returning to competitive action again having signed the Nsenkyire Sports Complex-based club after finally completing his medicals last Thursday
The Timber Giants did all they could to get this deal done despite getting a stiffer opposition from giants Hearts of Oak as they aim at establishing a redoubtable side for the new season
