Tanzania’s Simba SC is closing in on the signing of Asante Kotoko captain Gilbani Samba O’Neil during the ongoing transfer window, according to Tanzanian website, Many Sports Arena.

The Congolese defender is expected to put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal, subject to successful medicals. Once cleared, Samba will travel to Tanzania to join Simba SC’s pre-season or current training camp, where he will be integrated into the squad under the direction of the coaching staff.

Asante Kotoko is expected to earn around 100,000 to 150,000 usd from his sale with his contract set to end at the end of the season.

This season, Samba has featured in 15 Ghana Premier League matches, scoring twice, while also making four appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup, finding the net once before Kotoko exited in the second preliminary round.

Since joining Kotoko, the centre-back has amassed 49 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as a key pillar in the Porcupine Warriors’ defence.
